Finished projects, cleaning out

I don’t like beading UFOs hanging around. I have plenty of knitting and quilting UFOs already.
So I finished up the wedding necklace and matching earrings, and put the remaining beads and crystals into stash. The design is a modified version of Esther Trusler’s “Twilight Garden Necklace” from Beadwork magazine, April-May 2008. I used Swarovski crystal teardrops in place of the leaves; substituted pearls for the crystals above the leaves; put pearls in the center of the chevron chain band, instead of fire-polished rounds; continued the crystals to the end of the band, because I assumed the bride’s hair would be short or up; and I used a lobster clasp and chain for the closure, instead of a button and loop. And, of course, I used white, pearl, and clear instead of green and purple. Other than that, it’s the same!

I don’t wear bracelets, but I got it into my head I could wear an anklet. [I’ve added capris to my wardrobe this summer, and feel the need to dress up my ankles.] So I made this one of leftover turquoise nuggets.

I wore it all afternoon. I liked it so much I made another the next day, from my leftover amethyst, to match my necklace.

The weather in Washington cooperated, so I was able to wear the turquoise anklet to the recent birthday party, as intended.

And just to clean out my pictures folder also, here’s a shot of a “devil” tomato in our yard, just before vacation. I love those horns!

And here’s Hannah, waiting patiently for a hummer.
